This Bangkok to Chiang Mai Package is a great way to explore the central plains of Thailand.

TOUR DESCRIPTION

Day 1 - Bangkok to Kanchanaburi
Get ready for an early start for this 3 day Bangkok to Chiang Mai Package tour. Our first day will combine all the sights, sounds, and colors of the early morning floating market at Damnoen Saduak as well as taking you to the beautiful province of Kanchanaburi. Our first stop will be at the Mae Klong Railway Market where food vendors and market stalls set up on the train tracks! You will watch in amazement at the scene which unfolds as a train passes through!!!! Our next stop on route to the floating market will be a small palm sugar factory where you can see the manufacturing process of the sweet sugary cake as well as try some if you have a sweet tooth. At Damnoen Saduak we will board a motorboat for a trip through the canals to the floating market venue here you will experience the full colors and vibrancy of this unique market and if you want to get close to the action jump in a paddleboat and have a go at haggling for some market products. We will proceed to Kanchanaburi where you visit the allied prisoners of war cemetery and the famous Bridge Over The River Kwai, we will also visit the Thailand Burma Railway Center which houses an excellent museum for those who are interested in the history of the railway and its construction. After lunch, we will take a boat to get a closer view of the river and our first day will finish when we transfer you to your Kanchanaburi hotel.

Day 2 - Kanchanaburi to Phitsanulok
We will pick you up at your Kanchanaburi hotel and commence our trip with the one-and-a-half-hour drive to Siam's old capital of Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya was said to have been one of the most beautiful cities in the world in its time and the heart of the thriving Siamese Kingdom situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya. You will see some of the remains of over 400 stone temples and Buddhist statues. We will continue the journey north to the important historical town of Phitsanulok where we will visit Phitsanulok's most important temple: Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat (Wat Yai) and a small bronze Buddha image casting foundry where you will have the opportunity to witness skilled craftspersons working on the reproductions of Phra Buddha Chinnarat images and watch the casting process (closed Mondays and Tuesdays and public holidays). Our day will finish when we transfer you to your Phitsanulok hotel. We suggest spending the evening taking in the local night market

Day 3 - Phitsanulok to Chiang Mai
We will pick you up from your Phitsanulok hotel and commence the drive to Sukhothai. Sukhothai was founded in the 13th century as the first truly independent Thai Kingdom we will take you around the ancient city of Sukhothai where you can see the magnificent remnants of temples and Buddha statues within Sukhothai's Historical Park. After Sukhothai, we will proceed to Lampang province where we will stop at the cities most important Temple Wat Phrathat Lampang Luang. Following Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, we will make our way towards Chiang Mai and transfer you to your chosen Chiang Mai hotel.
